Last season, Barcelona signed two Portuguese stars, João Cancelo and João Félix, on loan from Manchester City and Atlético Madrid, respectively. Both players gave their best throughout their loan spells, but the Blaugrana are not fully satisfied with their performances.
Despite João Cancelo, a right-back, scoring four goals and providing four assists, and João Félix, a forward, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists, both players returned to their clubs. It is uncertain whether they will return to Barcelona. Among the two, the right back is the one most likely to come back, as Barcelona has already agreed to sell their Brazilian right-back, Araújo, to Bournemouth.
As reported by SPORT, he only wants Barcelona. He has already rejected moves to a Saudi club and some top European clubs.
Barcelona are now prepared to re-sign him, despite his average season in 2023-24 and his position already being filled by Koundé, who is now the club’s first choice. A loan offer worth €7m has been sent to Man City, with a buy clause worth €20m added. However, the reigning Premier League champions are not prepared to consider anything other than a permanent deal, meaning that the two clubs have yet to agree on terms.
